Lindsay Lohan (“Mean Girls,” “Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen,” “Freaky Friday”) stars
as Maggie Peyton, a talented car racer who rescues Herbie from the junk yard. When she first
takes little “Number 53” home, she doesn’t realize what she’s got. But with her mechanic pal
Kevin (Justin Long, “Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story”), Maggie finds out that Herbie’s the
free-wheelin’ Volkswagen beetle with a mind of his own. Although her dad (Michael Keaton,
“White Noise,” “Batman”) forbids her to race, Maggie puts Herbie through his paces on the road
to becoming a NASCAR competitor.
When Maggie is challenged by the road-hog race king Trip Murphy (Matt Dillon, “Crash,”
“There’s Something About Mary”), she finds out that Herbie’s got some new tricks under his
hood as he takes audiences for an action-packed spin in this high-speed comedy. With an allstar
cast along for a wild ride, this comedy puts Herbie to the test – on road, off-road, on the
track and into the record books.
HERBIE: FULLY LOADED also stars Breckin Meyer (“Kate and Leopold”) and Cheryl Hines
(TV’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm”). Story by Thomas Lennon & Robert Ben Garant and Mark
Perez. Screenplay by Thomas Lennon & Robert Ben Garant and Alfred Gough & Miles Millar,
“based on characters created by Gordon Buford.” Directed by Angela Robinson.

The bonus features look good, but I wouldn't buy it.
So far I'm winning the box office prediction for Herbie! |

I'm gonna buy this, I've always wanted to see it so I'll get it.
While not the runaway hit I envisioned, the movie did earn good money for Disney. So they can't complain I'm sure. |

Why would you want that?! Down with Foolscreen, I say.
According the amazon page when you pre-order, it says:
| Quote: | | Format: Color, Closed-captioned, Widescreen, Dolby |
By the way, that's a grip of deleted scenes on the DVD!
and the disc art ain't that great. _________________

| Somewhat odd that they're including the "Love Bug Day at Disneyland" featurette from The Love Bug's DVD. Must be an Easter Egg, as it was not announced. In any event, the other supplements do sound far more substantial than most new live action film extras like "On the Set with Mr. Diesel." |

I don't think it was on the UK Love Bug release (we only got a single disc) so that is probably a UK only addition. _________________ "I sent you back into the void. I saved the whole of reality from you. I am the Doctor, and you are the DALEKS!"

I don't think the Herbie Days at Disneyland is going to be the same as on the Love Bug special edition. Not sure if anyone here saw coverage of the premiere in Hollywood. But about a dozen Herbies, both real and replicas belonging to the members of www.lovebugfans.com were used to line the street infront of the El Capitain. Many of my friends who had their cars on Display were also treated to an all access tour of Disney Studios, and their own private screening of HFL. _________________ Albert & Herbie (0\(5!3)/0)

The review is pretty much on the money. As mentioned, you can't go into a Herbie movie expecting a life-altering experience, but fun nonetheless. It filled in half of a 3-hour flight to New Zealand last month at any rate...
Just one quick question: Why is VMK referred to as "Disney's silly and restrictive Virtual Magic Kingdom online fad". Restrictive in what sense? _________________ DVDBits - News, Reviews and More! | Bitcast! - My Podcast |HKDL Source - Hong Kong Disneyland Fansite | Twitter - Follow me on Twitter |

My one experience with it (at Disneyland) is that they won't let you enter practically any words, from "Pooh" to "Tommy Kirk." |

Fair enough. That much is true. Numbers also seem to be outside the realm of allowable usage.
Still, for those of us that have a 12+ hour flight to the nearest real park, I have to admit to loving it. _________________ DVDBits - News, Reviews and More! | Bitcast! - My Podcast |HKDL Source - Hong Kong Disneyland Fansite | Twitter - Follow me on Twitter |

That's cool. I'm willing to give it another chance, because after all, who can completely resist checking out a silly online fad? Even if they make you jump through flaming hoops to enjoy it! |

Heh. I should be the first to jump up and down about restrictions
However, if you REALLY don't want to use the codes for the silly fads, I'm MORE than happy to take them off you _________________ DVDBits - News, Reviews and More! | Bitcast! - My Podcast |HKDL Source - Hong Kong Disneyland Fansite | Twitter - Follow me on Twitter |

Don't know if this is the place but I would like to comment on "Herbie Fully Loaded". I bought this yesterday on a blind buy because I collect all things Jeff Gordon and he does make a brief appearance in this movie.
I was pleasantly surprised at the film. It was not a waste of time as I had anticipated, however it wasn't any blockbuster of a film for the Herbie series. Lindsay Lohan was adequate, but I felt she screamed too much. Matt Dillon was perfect as the 'villain' of the movie and as in all Disney movies gets his come-uppance at the end.
One question: I had all subtitles turned off and yet I kept getting French subtitles whenever they showed headlines or posters in the movie. Was there a particular reason for that?

Don't know if I'll be explaining this right, but sometimes there are default subtitles anytime there's a text in English that someone who's French can't read, so they provide the subtitle to show who it is.
Like in the new Star Wars DVDs, instead of having the translations for alien-speak burned into an image, they're put on as subtitles by default, when you just put in the DVD and press play, without going to the set-up page and clicking "none".
The best advice I can give is to always go to set-up and click "None", and even while watching the movie, click the subtitle button on the remote to see that it's turned off.
But sometimes even with all that, the disc probably skips or something and for a moment the subtitle flashes.

I did one better............I checked to make sure that subtitles were turned off, and they were and just when they showed pictures of headlines or posters or something like that it would put subtitles in French ............... so I took my disc back and they checked it for me and it did the same thing for them......we unwrapped three more discs and they did the same thing, the next thing was they said to watch sites like this one for announcements of a recall because of the disc.................or just live with it. I can do that because I am not bothered that much by it............but just thought I would find out if it was me, my disc player or what.
Thanks for your explanation Escapay, it did help and I understood it completely.
