The following Disney, Touchstone, Hollywood, Miramax, and Dimension DVDs will be undergoing price drops in 2008. They are arranged by date and divided by new suggested retail price (SRP). Once the price reduction is reflected, most of these DVDs will generally be available for a few dollars dollars less than the listed amount.

Anyone know if they also reduce the prices in the Disney Movie Club or is this just through other retailers. Figures I just ordered Monster's Inc. Smile I'll have to pick up Incredibles and A Bug's Life, though. Well, can we mark those 4 pixar off the vault possiblities (OOP) thread list?
Thanks for the info, Luke!

Thanks for the info! There are a few there that I'll have to try and get when they get discounted.

I wonder if the prices will go down at Amazon or other online retailers as well. If they do I may have to get them from there.

Not exactly fantastic news unless you still need the Pixar flicks. Possibly Father of the Bride 15th anniversary.

I guess I will stop procrastinating and pick up Monsters Inc. and A Bug's Life to finish my Pixar collection, as well as Toy Story 2. However I already have them on VHS.

PostPosted: Sat Mar 18, 2006 9:01 pm    Post subject: Question about a price drop Reply with quote

I was looking on the price drop list from the main page of UD and it says that in May there will be a price drop on the first three seasons of Home Improvement, which are three sets that I would love to get, only if I had the cash, and yet the price drop list doesn't give a price or how long the drop will last. Could someone who knows tell me what the lower SRP will be (hopefully you can tell me the Canadian amount) and how long the price drop will last? Thanks in advance

On temporary price reductions, there is rarely a set amount to expect discounts at. The discounts also won't be reflected at every retailer. But in the case of the five May TRP titles ("HI" and the ESPN stuff), I can tell you the window will last 18 weeks, ending on September 23rd.

The Country Bears is tempting, but I will still hold out hope for an OAR release one day.

Where are they selling the DVDs because I really want Mulan and Toy Story 1 and 2. And now they're cheaper! And I hope it doesn't mean that those people at Disney put them in the vault because I missed Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King so I won't miss these ones! So whne they get out of the vault tell me, because if they return with a bigger and better version of the movie then I'll be thrilled.
Again, Thanks. Very Happy

If you put your mouse over the name of the DVD iin the first posting it shows you where. Or just click in the title abd it will take you to the place that is selling it. I think they are all at Amazon.com

How long are some of these "temporary" price drop supposed to last, because I just saw the Home Improvement sets at my local Best Buy and they're still marked down from around $40 down to about $25, I'm hoping to pick them up in the very near future.

I would think that the prices would be retail and that they would be all over the place like Best Buy and Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart will probably be cheaper than these prices

As I said a few posts up, the "Home Improvement" and ESPN temporary price drops are supposed to last through September 23rd. The length of other TPRs vary. For instance, the fall Disney animation one will run through Christmas Eve.

As it says in the first post, the prices listed are the new suggested retail price. So typically, you'll be able to save $5 or more off what is listed based on regular discounting. Unless you're shopping at a store that doesn't do that.
