Studio Ghibli Survivor Semi-Finals
Welcome to the Studio Ghibli Survivor, where the Studio Ghibli films will compete to be known as the best Ghibli Film, here on Ultimate Disney.
The Ghibli movies competing include all the full length features, and 3 pre Ghibli films, that shaped Ghibli or their directors. The total is 17 films.
Everyone is welcome to play the game. You don't need to have played in previous rounds. However, to play you must have 25 user posts.
The game will be similar to all the other survivor games held on this site. Simply, every round you vote for the movie that you find the weakest, or that you find most unworthy. The movie with the most votes will be eliminated in that round.
In case of a tie, a tiebraker will occur, where you will vote for the film that you want to be eliminated.
Since the low amount of Ghibli films, only 1 film will be eliminated per round.
You MUST post your vote in bold, or else the vote will be null and void. I will not count votes in any circumstances that arn't bold.
Each round will last aproximately 2 days. However, if I am not able to reach a computer at the end of the round, the round will continue until I close it. Tiebrakers will last aproximately 1 day.
Round Five will end at 5:00 PM EST on May 22nd.
Competing Films:
Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
Laputa: Castle in the Sky
Kiki's Delivery Service
Eliminated Films:
Round One: My Neighbors the Yamadas
Round Two: Hols: Prince of The Sun
Round Three: Only Yesterday
Round Four: Grave of the Fireflies
Round Five: The Cat Returns
Round Six: Ocean Waves
Round Seven: Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro
Round Eight: Porco Rosso
Round Nine: Whisper of the Heart
Round Ten: Howl's Moving Castle
Round Eleven: Pom Poko
Round Twelve: My Neighbor Totoro
Round Thirteen: Spirited Away

Also, I kindly ask any of you that do not appreciate the Ghibli films to stop participating in the game, because you are just playing based off alliances and member favorites.

Well that went primarily to Timon/Pumbaafan. He dosn't even like the Ghibli films, yet he plays the game, just to play folly in it, and run havoc. I really find that annoing and immature. People need to grow up.Raydawggie wrote:Laputa: Castle in the Sky
Yeah, that's going to go well. Tell people not to play if they don't fit your definition of an ideal voter.
Kiki is extremely underrated. And Nausicaa is a masterwork. Castle in the Sky just gets left out. Good final three, though.
Anyways, after this I think I will be declining to play anymore survivor games, considering some people can only play on alliances, and not use any of their brainpower.

And these are ONLY ones of the top of my head.
I was going to call you a hypocrite, but then I thought, nah, that's too nice of a word.

Again, timon, you prove nothing with those notings. In that survivor, I wanted some of the good films to make it too the end. The only way to do that was to use an alliance. The alliance all had a common goal, to get the Ghibli films, which would have been otherwise eliminated early on, to the final rounds.Timon/Pumbaa fan wrote:

You are just playing this game to help Raydawggie, or whoever else you are partnered with, even though you don't like Ghibli. You could care less. In the animated movie survivor, there was a reason for survivor, because there were so many films, and it was super easy to eliminate any film, the Ghibli films were easily elimated the first game. So, the second game we didn't want that to happen.
Now, I had a reason to play that game, I love all animated films, unlike you, where you just want to play havoc and chaos on this game.
I see a huge difference in the two games.

I wanted Spirited Away to win. So far it's the only Ghibli film I've seen that kept my attention all the way through. When it left, then I wanted to play havoc, which is why I wanted to eliminate your favorite and support another's.castleinthesky wrote: You are just playing this game to help Raydawggie, or whoever else you are partnered with, even though you don't like Ghibli. Also, in the first game, GOTF became #2, and Totoro and CITS were in the top 10, so I really don't see where your coming from that "the Ghibli films were easily elimated"(btw what's "elimated" ).
Your just sad because your favorite didn't win, and we voted for it because of that. Which is fine I guess, you were the one who started the game.
