STICK IT

Outrageous Comedy With Attitude Packed With Bonus Features Including
Bloopers, Deleted Scenes, Audio Commentary,
Missy Elliott Music Video and More

On DVD September 19

BURBANK, Calif., June 23, 2006 – From the writer of the hit comedy “Bring It On,” Touchstone Home
Entertainment presents Stick It, the fun and irreverent comedy that turns the competitive world of women’s
gymnastics on its head, on DVD September 19. When a rebellious gymnast’s in-your-face attitude collides
with the strict nature of the sport, her coach and her teammates, she earns their respect by doing what she
does best: tossing out the rules. Stick It stars Missy Peregrym (TV’s “Life As We Know It,” “Dark Angel”) as
Haley Graham, the film’s defiant athlete, and features veteran Hollywood star Jeff Bridges (“Seabiscuit,” “The
Big Lebowski” and many more) as Haley’s no-nonsense coach. Written and Directed by Jessica Bendinger.

DVD bonus features are: ”Buttaharas” – outrageous bloopers and outtakes; “Skinny Fat” – deleted scenes with
optional filmmaker commentary; Missy Elliott music video “We Run This (Stick It Edit);” “Crowded” music video;
“Hardcorps” featurette about real stunt double gymnasts; “The Elites”- gymnastics routines from some of the
world’s best gymnasts; “The Judges Table” – uneven bar routines with optional filmmaker commentary; and
audio commentaries with writer/director Jessica Bendinger, actresses Missy Peregrym and Vanessa Lengies,
and the film’s cinematographer and editor. Stick It will be available for U.S. $29.99 (SRP), Canada $35.99
(SRP).

For the film’s sizzling soundtrack, Grammy® winner Missy Elliott provides “We Run This” as the film’s theme
song, from her recent album “The Cookbook.” The bonus music video for “We Run This (Stick It Edit)” features
Elliott as a gymnast, training for a championship meet, working with Olympic Gold Medalist Dominique Dawes
as her coach.

The soundtrack also features a heady mix of established artists and up-and-coming acts that are blurring the
lines between music genres—seamlessly blending a variety of influences from metal to rap—and forging styles
that are distinctly their own. Included are: eclectic Detroit-based rock band Electric Six; New York artist K7; My
Morning Jacket; Talib Kweli, Blink 182, FannyPack, Damone, Jurassic 5,, Jeannie Ortega; Fall Out Boy; Green
Day; Styx; Adam Ant… and even Perry Como.

Stick It also features Vanessa Lengies (“The Perfect Man” and TV’s “American Dreams”), Tarah Paige, Kellan
Lutz (TV’s “The Comeback”), and John Patrick Amedori (“The Butterfly Effect”).

Independent seventeen-year-old Haley Graham (Missy Peregrym) has gotten very good at defying both
authority and the laws of gravity. Haley’s single dad finds it next to impossible to keep his teenage daughter in
line (or simply at home, for that matter). For her and her neighborhood-cruising, dirt-bike-riding pals, there is
no jump or course around that’s too intense for Haley to try—just dare her.

So when her latest joyride results in a short trip to juvenile court, the judge hands down her sentence:
rebellious Haley has to do time at Vickerman Gymnastics Academy, an elite gymnastics academy run with
military regimentation by legendary and hardnosed coach Burt Vickerman (Jeff Bridges). Unfortunately for
Graham, it’s a return to a world she knows all too well—a former Junior Finals gymnastics champion herself,
Haley inexplicably walked out in the middle of the prestigious Championships competition, betraying her
teammates, scrapping her own Final Championships aspirations and trashing her reputation in one afternoon.
So it’s back to rules, back to conformity, back to spandex—bummer.

Haley’s reputation precedes her at VGA, and her headstrong ways and quick-witted comebacks instantly score
her both friends and enemies…with the Academy’s rising star (in her own mind, at least), Joanne Charis
(Vanessa Lengies), firmly in the latter category. But Coach Vickerman knows innate talent when he sees it,
and he’s committed to helping Haley come back to a world she could rule, whether she wants to or not. Haley
has little choice but to play the game - so what if it’s played with her rulebook? Vickerman’s response: “Don’t
hurt yourself. And don’t get blood on the equipment.”

What begins as a battle of wills between coach and athlete soon evolves into guarded mutual respect. Haley’s
talent and one-of-a-kind personality galvanize the elites’ squad, who find a hero in their new teammate and
learn that, along the way, some rules are meant to be broken. After all, it’s not called gym-nice-stics.

Want to see this, I enjoyed Bring It On so this would probably be as good as it. Good to see that a lot of bonus features are on this disc - the audio commentary should be worth a listen. Pretty boring cover art though.

This movie was a total waste of time and money. It was just so unbelievable, and the actors were all so wooden. I expected a lot more from this movie, and will sadly say that I won't even pay to rent this. $5 in the movie theater was a waste of money. Just my opinion, but this movie was horrible.

That cover art has to be a rough version. It is just really a terrible cut and paste job.

Thanks for the info Luke, you made my day!!!

LOVED this movie (as a gymnast, I could totally understand it and relate to it), and hope to buy it when it comes out.
I'm glad that it's got alot of gymnastics on the special features menu, and that it shows gymnast stunt-doubles, I think that'll be cool to watch as well. At least in this movie, you had a hard time telling which stunts were the actresses (there was an entire issue of a gymnastics magazine devoted to the movie) and which were their olympic gymnast stunt-doubles, unlike in Bring It On.

Personally, I liked the movie poster cover better than this cover, but oh well.

It definitely appears to be a mock-up like the other ones Disney has sent to retailers, as opposed to the final product. I'm sure the real deal will have a smaller banner atop, a more unique title font, and maybe a critics' quote or a tag line somewhere too.

This didn't look interesting to me at all. I'm going to pass on this DVD, and save my $$ for more important things, i.e. TLM.

I am going to buy this eventually, purely because my hormones insist upon it. I love gymnasts (when they're not so buff that they look like dudes, that is). I used to have it bad for Dominique Moceanu. I haven't seen this yet, but it looks funny. Not super high priority on my wish list, but I know it's one I'll eventually pick up.
