Hi all
i got the Little Mermaid DVD this week and i have some great news to share after viewing it - Peter Pan is getting an all new 2 disc dvd soon (March 207)

If this was already posted here forgive me.

scroll down to see screen shot from its trailer and other stuff from the dvd with some caps from the actual movie - it loooks amazing. i was so mad after getting the original tlm dvd so i had high hopes for this one.

The new direct to dvd CGI movie Tinker Bell looks amazing, unline the 3rd Little Mermaid (walt would have turn in his grave if he saw what is going on with his company very sad)

here are the screen shots:

More screenshots from "Little Mermaid III"
They have a sneak peek of it which shows nothing but the opening storm from the first movie and the necklace falls in the water thats it. but in the special feature there is one song from the movie which shows how bad the animation is - look for yourselves;

More screen shots from Robin Hood Trailer:

More screen shots from Cinderalla 3:

The following clips are ripped in a low quality from the dvd (so far this is the only way i can do it) it looks so much better on the dvd but i'm posting these for all of you guys that can not wait. Hope its ok

Woohoo! Confirmation that Peter Pan is getting a 2-discer in March! I LOVE the restoration shots! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Minions! Come out now! Celebrate the return of Peter Pan to DVD!!!!

Minion 1: Sheesh, after that long vacation...

Minion 2: Yeah, but it was a *long* vacation. I'm looking forward to endless and thankless dancing.

Minion 3: You'd think by now he'd have gotten bored of us and moved on to the banana.

Minion 4: Now there's an idea, maybe we can invite them.

Banana: Hi guys, I heard you wanted me to come over?

Minion 1: You bet, now you're a part of our endless and thankless dance!

Banana: What? No, no!!!

Minions: There's no escape! Bwahahaha!

Pink Elephant (on Parade) Pink Elephant (on Parade) Pink Elephant (on Parade) Pink Elephant (on Parade)

And it looks like there's some good news and bad news concerning Peter Pan and 101 Dalmatians...

The scan of the booklet shows that Peter Pan is the next Platinum! So it wasn't removed from the list, just bumped up early!!! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

But that means that 101 Dalmatians is being delayed from its Platinum Release...or it's been dropped from the Platinum line and will be a regular Special Edition... Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

Oh WOW!!!!! I want to jump up and down I am that excited!!!! I knew that Disney would be dumb to release "Peter Pan" soon and then re-release it in 2009 as part of the Platinum line. I am SO glad they are still doing it as a Platinum, and even more glad that it is the next one, seeing as it is my favorite of the classics. I can't believe Disney FINALLY included an original trailor. I can't remember when the last time they did that was. And the screen caps look stunning. All of the colors look the way they should, unlike the "Cinderella" restoration. I am so jealous of you, lighthousemike, and thank you so much for sharing all of this with us. I can't wait for Oct. 3rd. The screen caps from the trailor for "The Tinkerbell Movie" looks good, however I'm still not ok with the idea of a CG Pan prequel in which Tink talks. But I'm sure little girls will eat it up. I also am laughing at the before and after picture from Pan's trailor, since I own the most recent special edition and the before picture deffinatley doesn't look that bad, nor did my original black diamond VHS, but maybe that's what it was like before the black diamond collection? I don't know. I just think it looks funny.

WTheck!!!!!!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

PETER PAN PLATINUM EDITION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay I'm mad, because I already have it and I hate double-dipping!!!

But I'm happy because Peter Pan is one of my favorites and now we're getting a Platinum Edition!!! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy ALso ppl who missed the DVD before now have a chance to get it! Yay!!!! Very Happy Very Happy

I'm still sad though because I really wanted 101 Dalmations to come next because I don't have it yet on DVD and i love that movie too.

I think they should switch Jungle Book and Peter Pan's release dates to be consistent with how they released them. The October ones have been fairy tale-ish while the March ones were different stories mostly involving animals.

Another thing, the Tinkerbell Movie art doesn't look too bad. It's a big step from Twice Upon a Christmas in that it looks Disney, but not like they definitely outsourced to do it. I'm happy with it so far and I won't be surprised if I find myself buying/preordering it!

Also Disney Cruise Line Ad on the first page??? That's odd. Usually they're on the second.

Also, it's REALLY CREEPY to see TLM III and Cinderella III on one screen. AHHH SEQUELS!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH PETER PAN PLATINUM EDITION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Surprised Surprised Surprised Very Happy Thumb Up Wink

This is FANTASTIC NEWS!! This is the US (Region 1) TLM DVD release, right?

Why did Disney not say anything?? This is so great...

The Tinker Bell movie looks better than I thought. Is it going to be released in theatres?? The logo is great.

I highly doubt Disney dropped it from the Platinum lineup. Someone brought to light that if any of the Platinum's in the lineup were dropped, there would then be 13, a weird number. 14 to me sounds more acceptable. I actually wish they would add one more and make it 15, but I digress. "101 Dalmatians" is a true classic. I personally went through an obsession when I saw it in theaters as a kid and got the black diamond VHS in my Easter basket (best Easter ever!!!!). I had all of the stuffed animals as well as plastic figures and a bank. I just can't see the Platinum line without it. It was a title announced from the start. And it has been 7 years since it's last DVD release, so if it was dropped and was just coming as a special edition, I think we would have seen it by now. I think it is safe to say that "101 Dalmatians" will be released February or March of 2008, after "The Jungle Book." Now, I'm a bigger dalmatian fan than I am a "Jungle Book" fan, so I wish that "101 Dalmatians" was due fall 2007, but what can you do? Patience is a virtue. I'm just jumping for joy that Pan is getting it's PE release now and not a special edition now and a PE in 2009, because I argued against many who said it was getting 2 releases in 2 years, and I knew that couldn't be true.[/quote]

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I cannot stop dancing around. I absolutely adore feelings like this; being so much in awe that you just have to start laughing hysterically.

Anyways, I agree with Kram-- The Jungle Book should definitely come first, just considering the fact that 1.) Tinker Bell is being released at what I'd assume would be the same time period (October) & 2.) I'm pretty sure that Peter is a bit more popular than Jungle Book

I think I heard that "The Tinkerbell Movie" is actually a prequel to "Peter Pan," as well as the series that is scheduled to follow. Maybe Wendy's mother though? In the end of Pan, Mr. Darling says "I have a strange feeling I've seen that ship before" and Mrs. Darling looks like she too has seen it. While I've heard Pan is not in this film, maybe it's one of the parents? It is more probably, however, that this girl is in no way related to the Darling family. And maybe it's little Wendy and this is where she got the Pan stories, but it doesn't look at all like Wendy to me.

I'm betting it's someone who comes along way before the first Peter Pan film happens...otherwise there would be some mention of Peter, and I get this impression that this movie is just about Tinker Bell...

See, I told you guys that Peter Pan would be a Platinum Edition. You guys just don't listen to me! I wish that 101 would be next year, but I guess it's going to be in '08. Oh well, I don't have PP on DVD, so this is good for me. Now I just need more money. Very Happy

I guess that the new Cindy movie will have the "A Twist in Time". And RH will just be a special edition. This is fantastic news!

Lighthousemike, I have a few questions for you. The first being that I haven't seen disc art yet. They aren't on UD's upcoming cover and disc art yet. I was wondering if you could please scan the cover of both discs and post them. I'm sure I'm not the only one curious to see them. Also, does this release come with a "Disney DVD Insider" as the last two Platinums have? I was wondering if you can tell us what is in them. The last one that came with "Lady and the Tramp" had Ariel on the cover and included that cover art for the PE. I was wondering if the new one features Pan on the cover and if the DVD's cover art is anywhere in the magazine. Thank you very much.

GREAT BALLS OF FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!

HOW IT THE WORLD DID YOU GET A COPY OF IT???!?!!!?!?!?!?!?!??!?! and where?? (like, did a store in your area put out copies too early!?!?)

this is interesting news for me......first, its an EXTREME coincidence that I LITTERALLY just finnished watching PP RIGHT before reading this topic......second, I was really looking forward to the 101D. PE.....so, this really saddens me....at least to a degree. Smile I'm thinking that 101D. will just be released after TJB, like on March 2008, and Pinnoch. will be released in October 2008....I find it REALLY interesing that Disney would suprise us like that!!!! and on that note, I'm SUPER excited that disney postponed 101D. versus TJB....cause then, I would probably explode...or just go in a corner and cry.

Oh, and I also can't BELIEVE these screenshots you got!!!! If this is a real Reg. 1 edition, then the restoration looks pretty good. Especially in the sceen where Ariel rescues Eric...if I remember correctly, that scene and the beginning were very grainy. Could you possbily post a screencap of the "Fathoms Bellow"/ Beginning scene??

AND, i'm REALLY happy that these sceens confirm the inclusion of the ORIGINAL THEATRICAL TRAILER, as well as the ART GALLERY!!!! woohoo!!!!!!!!!!

AND PLEASE TELL US HOW YOU GOT THE DVD!!!!!!!!!!

thank you soo much!!!!! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
