BURBANK, Calif., March 2, 2007 – Home Improvement: The Complete Sixth Season from Buena Vista
Home Entertainment will bring laughter… and the sound of Tim “The Toolman” Taylor (Tim Allen) smashing
his thumb with a hammer… into your house on May 15th.

This latest 3-disc DVD set of the Emmy® Award- and Golden Globe®-winning sitcom features not only all 25
episodes including some of the series’ most unforgettable moments, but also an all-new blooper reel culled
from the 1996-1997 season.

Sixth-year Home Improvement highlights include the “At Sea” episode in which the fictional “Tool Time” TV
show hooks up with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Constellation, and legendary tunesmiths The Beach Boys
make an appearance in “The Karate Kid Returns.” “Insult to Injury” pays homage to real-life home
improvement guru Bob Vila when accident-prone Tim attempts to break one of Vila’s very own refurbishing
records.

Based loosely on the standup comedy of series star Tim Allen, Home Improvement ran on ABC-TV from
1991 to 1999.

Allen mantled a 1995 Best Performance Golden Globe for his “Toolman” portrayal and the Denver native’s big
screen credits for Disney include “Toy Story” and “The Santa Clause.” The third installment of the Christmas
comedy will be out on DVD later this year. “In the Pink” and “Wild Hogs” are among Allen’s 2007 theatrical
releases.

The cast of Home Improvement is rounded out by wife Jill (Patricia Richardson), kids Mark (Taran Noah
Smith), Randy (Jonathan Taylor Thomas) and Brad (Zachery Ty Bryan). “Tool Time” sidekick Al Borland is
played by Richard Karn, a former “Family Feud” host. Sagacious but rarely seen neighbor Wilson was voiced
by Earl Hindman. Home Improvement co-creators Matt Williams and Carmen Finestra previously worked on
1980s mega small screen hit “The Cosby Show.”

The Home Improvement: The Complete Sixth Season DVD is priced at $23.99 US and $35.99 CAN.

HI Season 6

Post by paulstpaul »

Luke, your review of HI Season 6 mentioned you experienced a strange video quality or effect on nearly half the episodes, and that even the average fan might notice the effect. I found it to be extremely annoying and I'm very disappointed with BVHE/Disney for treating this great sitcom so poorly. I hope they do a better job on Seasons 7 & 8. Did anyone else notice that a scene from the beginning of "I Was a Teenage Taylor" was not included? Are there any other scenes missing from this set? I called BVHE Support to complain about the poor video quality and the missing scene and they responded by saying they would investigate and get back to me.

I called them about this video problem and was told to send in my discs and they would send me copies with the error fixed, but I just got the same copies back.
Sadly, they did NOT fix this problem on season 7. Basically it seems like they would delete every other frame and then replace it with the frame before it and after it faded together (if you go frame-by-frame, sometimes you will see that it takes over 3 frames just for a shot to change!). It makes you feel like you're watching the show in slow-motion. I've seen some of these episodes on Nick-At-Night and TBS and they play fine, so I don't understand why these DVDs are so messed up.
