Beowulf

Post by katemonster »

This movie looks so good. Is anyone here planning on checking it out. I saw that it was going to be in IMAX 3D so I am so in for it now. I have not seen a 3D film is some time and can't wait. Not to mention Neil Gaiman is an incredible talent, I am looking forward to seeing his interpretation of this classic poem.

Not sure if I want to see it in theatres. I am interested in it though, it looks awesome. I'll probably wait till it comes out on DVD.

... It's made by one of the Disney family's companies? I didn't know that.

I found myself feeling really disappointed by the Lara Croft reject poster. Come on, shouldn't Grendel's mother at least bear some resemblance to her son in the ferociousness department? Shouldn't she be dangerous in more than just a sexual way? Sure, she has that snake braid, and I guess that's pretty dangerous, but she's wearing gold leaf for Pete's sake!

Oh, and they're putting in some thing about her making a deal with Beowulf or something. Making it sexier, I guess.

If Disney owns Paramount and Warner Brothers, then yeah, it's Disney, but the last time I checked Disney didn't own those two companies.

P.S. Yes, I did find that on Wikipedia, but they usually tell the truth on those things. So, in short, I think should be moved to off-topic.

P.P.S. I don't won't to sound mean, so I'll get on topic. I'm semi-interested in this movie, but I think I'll wait for the DVD.

EDIT/P.P.P.S- Okay it's Off-Topic Now.

Yeah this is a Paramount movie. I don't really have a problem with the Jolie posters. She actually did an interview talking about her being nude in this film.

Ooops! I jsut kan't spel aniemore!

Oh well.

Beowulf... Beowulf... Anybody read the book?

Seriously, though, I am somewhat interested in this film. I think it's shot in a very interesting technique. I'm guessing that the movie has very dark lighting. Well, I've ran out of things to say, and I won't post in this thread anymore since I'm not contributing to it in any way right now.

Can somebody direct me to the nearest spellcheck?

I don't think I'll see this.... I will buy A Hero Comes Home off of iTunes though. Actually, if my friends see it in 3D I might go, but it's not a movie I would just want to go out and see.

Angelina Jolie naked is enough to scare anybody off of seeing this film. And I believe that it is R-rated. If it's not then it should be.

Glad no parent company of Disney is associated with this drivvel.

PG-13 :) http://movies.go.com/beowulf/d867999/animation

So she won't be completely naked. It will probably be somewhat similar to X-Mens Mystic nude look.

Besides being naked in films doesn't mean shes not a great actress.

I saw it this past week and it was big disappointment. I guess I was expecting it to actually be based on the story of Beowulf. They changed so many things that it could have been called something else. I've read the reviews about the animation being something that hasn't been seen before. It was great animation but it looked just the same as any of the Shrek movies. I've also heard people exepecting it to be like 300 but that is not the case either. And how many time to we have to see a nekkid beowulf?

I give a 6/10.

I went with a friend, who wanted to see this as part of his Birthday celebration night out. I have a couple of Movie Cash certificates for $10.00 each, and decided to use one. We saw it in IMAX 3-D. I only ended up paying .25 cents. At any rate, parts of the movie were quite interesting. The animation was pretty good. Also, seeing it in 3-D was awesome. It wasn't as good as I expected it to be, but, it wasn't horrible.

Saw it in 3-D with a buddy and if not for the fact that we saw it in 3-D, I think I wouldn't have liked it much.

It was worth the money in 3-D though. Some scenes looked absolutely crazy. I wish I had sat closer to the screen but I have that movie watcher's mentality about the seats that are further back being the "good seats."
Wherever. Whatever. Have a nice day.
