What movies are you seeing in 2008?

Post by Anthony »

Yes, believe it or not, 2007 is almost over and another new year will be upon us. 2008 promises to give us a leap day, a total lunar eclipse, Beijing Summer Olympics and, of course, hundreds and hundreds of new movies. Which ones do you plan to see?

Here are mine:

Cloverfield - not on the top of my list, but may check it out (Jan 18th)

10,000 B.C. - the visual effects look stunning (March 7th)

Leatherheads - has Renee Zellweger in it, so why not? (April 4th)

Prom Night - sounds like an interesting remake (April 11th)

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - Indy's back FINALLY (May 23rd)

WALL-E - whenever there's a Pixar film, I'm there (June 27th)

The Dark Knight - can't wait!! (July 18th)

Mamma Mia! - looking forward to Meryl tackling all those ABBA songs (July 18th)

The Pineapple Express - Judd Apatow's next big comedy with Seth Rogen and James Franco (August 8th)

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 - I don't care what anyone says, the first film was really good, I hope this one is as well (August 8th)

Blindness - this worries me a bit since it was supposed to open in Feb' 08, but still the story sounds good and the cast is amazing (August 8th)

Case 39 - another Feb '08 delayed film, but Renee's in it (August 22nd)

Scary Movie 5 - yes I know these are dumb, but they are still funny! (October 31st)

Madagascar 2: The Crate Escape - it's coming in IMAX 3-D!! (November 7th)

Bolt - duh, it's Disney! (November 26th)

The Smurfs - maybe I'll see this one, I have to wait 'til I see a trailer (November 28th)

Revolutionary Road
- Leo and Kate back on screen together (December 19th)

The only 2 that I'm definitely going to see in the theaters are "WALL-E" and "Bolt".

I'll eventually see "TCoN: Prince Caspian" and "Alice in Wonderland". "College Road Trip", too, but that might be this year...I don't even remember...

Two reasons why others might not have listed it -

1. It's coming out in two weeks (December 14, 2007).
2. From what I've seen, it looks really bad.... :|

Cloverfield/1-18-08 - Its a monster movie. It opens on my birthday. I am there
The Spiderwick Chronicles - I'll take my daughter to it, but I am not overly excited. It looks good, though.
10,000 B.C. - So there.
Horton Hears a Who - God I hope they don't ruin it.
The Ruins - Maybe, need to see a trailer before i decide
CoN:PC - Of course.
The Fox and the Child - Maybe
Marley and Me - Though I loathe the idea that everyone we sees this movie is gonna want a stupid, giant labrador like Marley, I may still see the movie.
Wall-E - Its Pixar :)
Hellboy 2: Golden Army - I <3 Hellboy
The Dark Knight - Hell yeah
Power of the Dark Crystal - Can't wait!
The Mummy 3 - I love the other two movies, so I have to see this one.
Where The Wild Things Are - Depends how it looks if I will wait for DVD or not
Madagascar 2 - I just know my daughter will drag me to this
HP:HBP - YES!
The Day The Earth Stood Still - Need to see a trailer first.
