I feel that Disney would get more interest if they didn't try to hide the fact that these are compilations of "The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" episodes from the late '80s/early '90s.

Thanks, Luke/Mr. I! Meh, no new information revealed, really. I definately look forward to these two titles, as the Pooh TV series is one of my favorites.

And I agree that they shouldn't hide that these are TV episodes - the way they are promoting it, it sounds like a bunch of cheap games and learning activities and nothing more.

I definitely want to get this, even if I hate the way Disney's releasing and promoting it (I'd much rather get season boxed sets with the show's actual title on the cover). Because of this, I'm not sure if I'm gonna buy it even if I want to. Maybe Disney wil pull a "Lizzie Maguire" and release season sets after releasing a couple of themed single discs (ok, yeah, that's just wishful thinking)?

Probably not, we have about 9 volumes of these DVDs in the UK!

Yeah thats exactley what I was thinking although I would be so tempted to by them just becasue I love the Winnie the Pooh series. But I am assuming its not only the Lizzie McGuire season set but Gargoyles as well. (Guess well see)

Detailed DVD reviews are up here:

Volume 1 - A Great Day of Discovery
http://www.ultimatedisney.com/guwpooh1.html

Volume 2 - Friends Forever
http://www.ultimatedisney.com/guwpooh2.html

With some schooling from Christopher Finch's wonderful book, I've made efforts to make these reviews informative with regards to where Pooh and "The New Adventures" show stand in the Disney canon, context that is entirely lost in the way the studio is presenting these as merely new Pooh DVDs for preschoolers.

Surprised Jawdrop Very Happy Yeah! I luuuurves me some New Adventures of.... Growing Up With Winnie the Pooh? Hmm...WoW! Praise the lords that NAoWtP is finally being released on DVD, but the title is weak and I'm sure it will be interesting being in line for a DVD with preschoolers! Well, who cares? Just like Luke's review, I jump at every chance to buy my favorite TV show!!

If they released it in season boxsets (which I doubt due to the targeted demographic but I'll keep my fingers crossed) I'd buy it due to the nostalgia factor.

How I remember many-a-days when I'd sit down during summer break while in middle school and watch this show. I used to love the OP theme. Embarassed

As much as I want to own these, I'm holding myself back. I refuse to buy such a great show in such a slapped-together format. The DVD's don't even include the opening theme song, for crying out loud! I'll hold out for Gargoyles-style season sets, as unlikely as that may be. It annoys the crap out of me that Disney just uses this as another excuse to cash in some bucks from soccer moms rather than give this show some respect and appeal to its fans.

I prefer to get the season set of The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh not just volumes.

I too agree I'd much rather buy a whole set of the new adventures of Winnie the Pooh than buy everything seperately. I love it so much I can't wait for all of it to be released. I even taped it off of the t.v.

Yep, same. I grew up watching this (especially during schoolyear breaks) and would definitely enjoy taking a stroll down memory lane.

But I refuse to pay such a ridiculous price for so few episodes and would much rather have them just release it as season boxsets. Hm, maybe they'll do that later. Or something.

Most likely not. Rolling Eyes
