The Mulan SE came out today in the UK and I've mine has just arrived. In it is a leaflet advertising Bambi's release and on the other side, The Incredibles on DVD at Easter 2005. As you can see it says 2-Disc Collector's Edition just like Finding Nemo was.
Don't count this as the Final cover/disc art, but it could be.

Sorry if this is old news, I checked the reviews to see if was mentioned and The Incredibles thread, but it wasn't so I posted.

Preorder The Incredibles: 2-Disc Collector's Edition from Amazon.com (40% off, release date: March 15, 2005)

Oh my, that's fast. Of course, the Pixar theatrical experience cannot be denied, but I'm stoked at the idea of getting this in a few months. Easter falls early next year.

Thanks a lot for posting!

Easter? That's sooner than I expected. I was thinking late spring. I hope that's not the final cover. I was hoping for something a little more flashy. And the discs are identical. However, no matter what the cover looks like, it's the movie on the disc that matters. I hope the movie isn't on both discs like Finding Nemo. Anyway, thanks for posting. I can't wait for spring!

Easter is March 27th, which means that the latest this would be released to be considered "Easter" is Tuesday, March 22, or I suppose the day before in Europe, if it's going to come that early internationally too.

Holy crap that was fast! Shocked I really hope this DVD's structure is more like Monsters, Inc.'s (disc one: the movie and commentary, disc two: bonus material) as opposed to Finding Nemo's (disc one: widescreen, meaty features, disc two: fullscreen, kiddie features). I have a feeling that with the movie's 2.35:1 ratio, though, that Disney will want to do a fullscreen version and do a Nemo-style DVD.

A bit off topic, and a bit pathetic, but what are the trailers on Mulan's DVD? Is one of them one for Alice in Wonderland? Rolling Eyes

Anyhoo, it's fast considering that it's only about to hit screens next week in the UK and there's news of a DVD release coming...

While it is suprising to see an actual shot of the proposed packaging so early, I personally am not suprised at the release date. Why do some feel its so fast?

If it's released at the end of March, that gives it about a 6 month interval in between the DVD and the Theatrical Release date. That's just about the same as Finding Nemo's interval, which is practically the same for just about every movie these days. 6 months is typical.

Well, when I said that it was fast, I meant the fact that it's been announced and has been given rough cover art 2 weeks after release date. I always expected the DVD to come in the Spring since movies usually come out about 5 months after their theatrical release.

Well, it'd be the fastest Pixar theater-to-home video jump, and it'd be about 4 1/2 months. Finding Nemo was in time for the holidays, so one can understand that. Generally, Pixar films released in November haven't come to home video until the following fall, with the exception of A Bug's Life which was released in April.

Um, Jack.... don't mean to be a smartass but November-March is 4 months, not 6. Roll Eyes

Luke's right, 4 1/2 months is the shortest Pixar theater-to-DVD release ever. And technically, they could pull the Shrek approach and release it Friday, March 25.

Sorry for my poor math - I was typing on the go. I'm teh stuped. Rolling Eyes

Anyway, it still doesn't shock me too much. It may be quicker than previous Pixar titles, but it's pretty much in line with the quicker intervals for all films these days. In fact, it seems to be following the exact same release dates as Brother Bear.

Dreamworks for some reason decided to release Shrek 2 on DVD the same day as Disney's new film "The Incredibles" i guess in a way to take away some audience, so if Disney were to do the same, then Dreamworks next big film in theatres will be The Ring 2 scheduled for March 18th (friday). Though the Audience age group is different, it is just something i observed from the Dreamworks website.

Disney does have Bambi Platinum Edition March 1st, and The Princess Collection March 15th, so March 22nd does seem likely

The Princess Collection is February 22nd, but in any event, I don't think BVHE or Pixar would try and stoop to DreamWorks' level and do a Friday release. Like they're so cool they make you go to the store twice in one week. Roll Eyes

For what it's worth, the Pixar price drops take effect March 6, so I think any Tuesday between then and Easter Sunday seems fair game. I wish they wouldn't even waste the space to do a fullscreen transfer, since the Scope visuals were so wonderful and Pixar's bonus features always are a treat. But I'm sure they will.

I was just thinking about that, I always thought it was a waste of precious space. I really hope they have a Nemo style commentay where they interrupt the movie and show you stuff, that was awsome!!
