Pocahontas SE Screengrabs (large downloads)

Pocahontas: Special Edition

I’ve picked out some screens that show the bright colours and detail. Sadly, the aspect ratio of my captures seems to be slightly off.

As you can see, the transfer is leaps and bounds ahead of any previous transfer.

Netty, you are my hero, hehehe!
Thanks so much for the screen caps, they look great! I can't wait to see "Pocahontas" looking as good as "Aladdin" or "The Lion King", specially considering this is one of the most beautiful Disney animated features ever made.

I'm really glad to see they included the whole galleries, not just a sample like in "Alice In Wonderland". The menus look great with its artistic aproach (like the menus of Alice, Mulan and Sleeping Beauty). Are the menus on the second disc animated?

Not wanting to ask too much, hehe, but have you got any pictures from the newly added sequences?

Once more, thanks a lot! :)

Oh wow! That sure looks good! And now I can't wait to see the added scene. BTW, can anyone take a screengrabs of that one?

Great pictures Netty they look very clear and colorful. I wonder when they will release Pocahontas in the US. I'm really excited about Pocahontas: SE or ME.
I hope Pocahontas gets a slipcover and better treatment then the Golden Collection.

I'm more than happy with the galleries. It's a shame that they are not virtual though. There doesn't seem to be as many images as in Snow White or Sleeping Beauty, but the Pocahontas disc seems to have more than Aladdin. As a bonus, most of the galleries have additional footage, be it discussions with the animators or test animation.

The menus on the first disc are animated, the special features menu animation being very subtle, but very attractive. The second disc has an animated main menu (the image scrolls) but none of the other menus are animated. They all play instrumental music scores behind them though.

I may be able to get some shots from the new sequence in the next few days. I'll see what I can do if I get the time.

I find it strange that the menus don't follow the "EasyFind" rules, so do you think they'll be changed for the US (and possibly UK) releases?

And what about "FastPlay"? AFAIK this has only been used on one UK disney dvd so far (Three Musketeers), so has this been abandoned for this release aswell? Disney are making it very obvious that this release has been on the shelf waiting for a long time...

As a whole the package looks excellent though, and even if they don't make it fit in with more recent releases it'll still be great to own. Shame that France will probably be the only ones to get that gorgeous cover though. :(

It looks great but I think the menus should stick to the "art pieces" (the later abstract pictures).

I actually don't like virtual galleries because they take too long to navigate or it is just wasted space on a disc.

The presentation is really good though.

The screengrabs look beautiful. I love the fact that they've used inspirational sketches for the menus on disc 2. Can't wait to get my hands on the DVD!

So, I was getting ready to order the Pocahontas: SE from amazon.fr well guess what, out of stock... I am so sick of Disney pulling everything off the market after two seconds of sales. Does anyone know a reliable french site that still has it in stock and is willing to ship to the Netherlands? I've looked but could'nt find anyting yet and my french sucks.
